No, a properly functioning oil tank should not produce odors. If you notice an oil smell in the building it may be a sign that there is a problem with your tank, the piping or your heating appliance. You should contact Acme Fuel or Capital Heating & Cooling about this.
Home heating oil tanks last a long time. They are made of high-grade steel, fiberglass, or sometimes double wall tanks of plastic and steel, and can last for decades. Maintenance of the tanks and inspections prolong the life of the tank. Give Acme Fuel a call to discuss the potential need to replace your tank. We can provide advice on how to evaluate the tank, and replacement options.
The short answer is yes, propane can technically freeze at -306.4 degrees Fahrenheit (or -188 degrees Celsius). But what is more likely to happen than your propane tank freezing is that your propane can no longer vaporize. When the temperature gets below -44 degrees Fahrenheit (-42.2222 degrees Celsius) the propane will no longer boil. You can fix it by getting a propane tank heater. This being said, don’t worry too much about extreme cold since Little Rock, Washington doesn’t typically get colder than 35 degrees Fahrenheit. And in hot weather conditions you should simply avoid leaving your propane tank in direct sunlight as the hotter the tank gets, the more pressure there will be inside.

Acme Fuel is a local, 3rd generation, family owned business that’s committed to providing its customers the best products and services, while also being good stewards of our community and the environment.
Many other companies will use a technique where they sell their customers “teaser rates”. This is when a company will provide a false quote to their customers only to later add surprise charges and fees. Even worse, these same companies will artificially lower their propane cost in the summer when you need propane the least then turn around and raise the prices again in the winter, when you need your propane the most. Acme Fuel does not believe in playing dishonest pricing games with their Littlerock customers. That is why our fuel prices only change when the wholesale price changes. That way our customers always know what to expect from our prices! Check out the link below to see what our current propane prices are!
